As part of the Archdiocese of San Francisco Child Safety Charter, St. Pius Church requires all volunteers who work with children to complete online training and have their background evaluated using the Live Scan electronic fingerprint system.
The online training curriculum raises awareness regarding recognizing, reporting, and preventing child abuse. The Policies and Procedures and the Standards of Conduct regarding sexual misconduct in the Archdiocese of San Francisco are part of the training. The online course is user-friendly and available in English and Spanish. The required minimum training is called, Protecting God's Children Online Awareness 4.0. The training must be renewed with the same  Virtus login credentials every three years.  If you are a new volunteer, please be sure to complete the Virtus training before the livescan.

1. Create a Virtus account by visiting the Virtus link above.
2. Get fingerprinted, using the Livescan Form above at a Livescan location. It is only necessary to be fingerprinted once for the Archdiocese of San Francisco. This will cover all the Archdiocese Parishes and Schools.
3.  Complete the assigned training module.
