Our Men’s Club is a multigenerational group open to all men of the parish. The group meets regularly on the third Wednesday of the month for a dinner meeting ($30, $10 for seniors, first-timers free of charge).
The Men’s club hosts an annual golf tournament, our Christmas Tree Lot and a
yearly retreat.

Ralph Lucchesi Lifetime Achievement Award 

Congratulations to Raul Velez, recipient of the
 2024 Ralph Lucchesi Lifetime Achievement Award!

The Ralph Lucchesi award was born out of respect to Ralph’s extraordinary service to St. Pius. It is intended to recognize a man, who without need nor want of recognition, has given so much of his life in service to the parish, and by doing so has made a meaningful impact on the success of our thriving community.

This year’s recipient has been working in the background for the St. Pius Community for many years. He grew up in Epiphany Parish in San Francisco and at an early age was responsible for the audio and lighting for church events in his parish back in the 70’s. After high school he went on to work at several local radio and TV stations and is on a first name basis with many local broadcasting talents. He now oversees all Sutro Tower property including broadcast antennas on the tower above Candlestick. 

At St. Pius, he has been working behind the scenes helping with the Festivals and Children’s theater going back to Msgr. Armstrong’s era. He worked very closely with Karen Elmore and Dave Kellems during these years. Recently it was his oversight and vision to live stream the Sunday mass the 2nd weekend after the Covid Shut down in March of 2020. His initiative is responsible for raising the elevation of the chandeliers inside the church, adding lighting behind the tabernacle, purchasing remote control cameras that are used during the Sunday service, theater performances, and basketball and volleyball live stream during the Covid years.

During Covid, he was the one who pushed for outdoor masses and accomplished all the audio and remote live streaming for them. Because of our success in pulling that off, the archbishop elected to have three outdoor ordinations at St Pius that year, one for priesthood and two for deacons. All these events were broadcasted so the families of the candidates could attend the ordination regardless of their location in the world.
